PhD and Postdoc position at the Icelandic Vision Lab

The Icelandic Vision Lab advertises two positions fully funded by a grant from the Icelandic Research Fund (IRF). 
 
The successful candidates will work under the supervision of Dr. Sabrina Hansmann-Roth.  
 
We are looking for highly motivated candidates for a three-year Ph.D. position and a two-year postdoctoral position
 
The project focuses on serial effects in visual perception using a combination of behavioral studies and computational modelling work. 
 
A PhD (for the Postdoc position) or a Masters (or equiv.) degree (for the PhD position) in relevant disciplines are required (e.g., Psychology, Biology, Computer Science). Candidates should have strong programming skills (MATLAB and/or Python), strong analysis skills using statistical software such as R. Experience with computational modelling in vision are a benefit, but promising candidates showing enthusiasm to learn these methods will also be considered. Moreover, applicants should have good communication and interpersonal skills, excellent organizational skills and be able to show initiative.  
 
The Icelandic Vision Lab offers a stimulating academic environment and has an extended network of collaborations, from all over the world and is in many ways unique in this international aspect.   
 
The successful candidate will join this vibrant community of graduate students, Postdoctoral researchers, and faculty who all work on varied aspects of visual perception. There is good access to all necessary equipment. The lab has high-end equipment for eye movement studies, for EEG, VR, as well as extensive experience with high quality psychophysical studies.
